I read with great interest the story March 25 about the trials and tribulations of a poor woman whose first-grader suffered the horrors of being tickled by a second-grader on the school bus. The subsequent two-day investigation by the school administration and the police report were probably emotionally draining as well.

I concede that I grew up in an era where most people in charge of kids subscribed to the “I’ll give you something to cry about” method of child rearing.

The article went on to suggest that she was seeking justice through civil litigation and civil rights organizations.

The suggestion made that the district incorporate bus monitors is interesting. I think the woman should volunteer her services, as it would seem she enjoys an abundance of surplus time.
