RUMFORD – Kevin N. Saisi of Rumford will represent the Oxford County Medical Reserve Corps at the sixth annual Medical Reserve Corps National Leadership and Training Conference, hosted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, in Portland, Oregon, April 7-11.
More than 600 MRC leaders from across the country are scheduled to attend the conference, designed to better equip MRC units with the tools they need to effectively start and sustain their unit through partnerships. The 4-day event will begin with a keynote speech by Acting Surgeon General Steven Galson.
Saisi attended the annual conference in Providence, R.I., last year, and presented at a regional conference in Maine. He has been recognized on the federal level for his efforts to bring the program to Oxford County. There are six MRC units in Central and Southern Maine. Saisi and other unit coordinators work under the auspices of Maine C.D.C., and are supported by a regional coordinator and the Boston office of the U.S. Public Health Service.
