SOUTH PORTLAND — Southern Maine Community College’s Public Safety Executive Command Training Program recently graduated 20 public safety professionals from 18 agencies around the state. A formal ceremony on March 14 marked the event.

The program was developed to provide cross-disciplinary training of police, fire, corrections and emergency medical departments. Topics assist command staff personnel in becoming more effective leaders in their communities.

The two one-week sessions award participants three college credits. The program is open to all working public safety executives.

Local 2008 graduates include: Christopher Lewis, lieutenant, Topsham Police Department; Michael Moody, lieutenant, Brunswick Police Department; Jack Peck, lieutenant, Farmington Police Department; Richard Pickett, chief, Dixfield Police Department; William Potter, sergeant, Brunswick Police Department.
