MANCHESTER, Conn. (AP) – At least 15 University of Connecticut students became ill after having food at an off-campus event in Manchester.

UConn spokeswoman Karen Grava declined to say where the event was held, but said about 150 people attended the Monday night gathering.

The state Department of Health, The Eastern Highland Health District, and Manchester Department of Health all investigated.

State Health Department spokesman William Gerrish said the department was barred by law from discussing the incident because it was not a public health concern.

He said that often during investigations, the department discovers it is dealing with a one-time incident, in which the source of the illness has been discovered and dealt with.
