SOUTH PARIS – Archie F. Macdonald Jr., 70, of Oxford died Monday, March 31, at the Market Square Health Care Center.

He was born in North Paris on Sept. 23, 1937, to Archie F. Macdonald Sr. and Leah Beck.

On June 6, 1958, he married the former Dixie Robinson.

He had worked at Robinson Manufacturing for many years. He was a member of Oxford Lodge AF&AM in Norway. He was the self-proclaimed police chief and mayor of Oxford.

He is survived by his wife, Dixie of Oxford; four daughters, Shelley and Ronald Smith of Harrison, Terri and Sydney Lorandeau of Newport, N.H., Sheila and Kenneth Bremner of Minot and Vicki and David Currier of Oxford; two sisters, MaryLou St. John and husband, Daryl, of Norway and Ruth Cox of South Paris; grandchildren, Jason and Alta Jack, Danielle and Adam Doughty, Kristin and Tobey Smith, Ronnie Lynn Smith and Travis Stearns, Sydney Lorandeau, Holly Roberts and Crock and Jen Currier; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Brandon, Jade, Austin, Collin, McKenna Lynn, Bryanna, Isabel, Brady and Cartier; brother-in-laws, Winfield and wife, Polly Robinson, of Oxford and Daniel and wife, Ann, of Norway.
