Have you ever wanted to know if you shop “in style?” Well, from a seventh grade female at Tripp Middle School, here are some tips. The first thing I do is obviously find a ride. That should be pretty easy, but make sure the person taking you is willing to shop around and not have to leave in twenty minutes. Twenty minutes shopping time isn’t that long. Remember… “Time flies when your having fun.”
The next thing is to find a store. My choice would definitely be a clothes or an accessories store, not so much a pots and pans kitchen store. When you walk in, you know if it’s the right store if you see right away at least one thing that looks worth buying. If there isn’t something you see right off, don’t walk out, take about 10 minutes to check and see if you should move on. Remember the “sale” racks are the ones to go for, these are usually found in the back of the store.
Have you found something that looks good? Is that something gleaming in your eyes say “Buy me?” If so, keep snooping around until you have about … let’s say four things or more to try on. That’s two outfits but if you think about it, something isn’t always going to fit, so you will probably end up with about one or two pieces of clothing.
After trying on your choices of clothing, pick which ones you would like to purchase. Think about it, is the thing you chose worth buying, or are you just buying it to look “IN?” Does it fit “YOU” well?
Have you ever wondered what style you really were? When you go to a store, look for something “your” style. For example, someone’s sense of style could be low cut jeans or not so low cut jeans, low scoop shirts with a camisole or a high shirt near the neck. What about shoes? High heels or low flats? Which ones are for you? Do you really care how they feel or what they look like?
Have you ever considered changing style? For instance, what about the straight leg pants, you know the ones without the flair? A lot of people sneer and make faces at them. They weren’t really “IN” until just recently, then they became part of a new look. Next time you go shopping try a pair on just for the fun of it. You don’t have to buy them, just see how they look on you.
You should consider trying new clothes if your old clothes are getting old and “out of style.” I would be sort of afraid to wear new clothes to school if I haven’t seen them on other people before. I say, wear it, you never know you, could start a new trend.
Now that you know how some of us shop, pay close attention to the way you shop… us girls do think the same!
