• A vehicle driven by Edward J. Varnum Sr., 36, of Bethel, and owned by Joseph Downs, owner of Road Hog Express Taxi Service, Rumford, collided with a deer at 1:15 a.m. March 30 as Varnum was driving east on Highland Terrace.

The deer jumped over a snowbank and into the road where it was struck and killed.

The four-door 1992 Plymouth sustained $1,200 in damage.

Theft

• Alesha Johnson, 26, of Angie Lane, Mexico, was arrested on charges of shoplifting and violating conditions of bail on March 27 in front of Wal-Mart.

She was taken to Oxford County jail. She is scheduled to appear in 11th District Court, Northern Oxford Division, on June 3.
