NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Jeff Natalie launched a ball over the left-field wall in the top of the ninth inning to give the Portland Sea Dogs a 2-1 victory over New Britain in double A baseball action Saturday.

The game started off as a pitcher’s duel and remained that way until the fifth inning when Natalie opened the frame for the Seadogs (2-0) with a single to center field and came around to score on Andrew Pinckney’s double.

The Rock Cats (0-2) retaliated in the bottom of the inning on Dustin Martin’s RBI double to center field to tie the game.

Michael Bowdoin, one of Boston’s prized pitching prospects, stifled the Rock Cats’ bats through 4 2/3 innings, allowing just two hits and one run with five strike outs.

Chad Rhoades picked up the win with two shutout innings, while Michael James tossed a scoreless ninth for the save.
