Rumford – Cyrice J. “Cy” Langlais, 88, of Oxford Avenue, was called home to the Lord on Friday, April 4.
He was born in St. Cyprien, Quebec, a son of Joseph and Marie (Berube) Langlais. He was educated in Rumford schools.
On Sept. 30, 1939, he married Simone (Caron) of Jay, and together they celebrated 50 years of marriage. During their marriage, they would visit and care for their elderly family members.
He was employed for 40 years as a machine tender at Oxford Paper Co. He was a communicant of St. Athanasius & St. John Catholic Church, was a member of the Fr. Ambrose J. Barry Council 1641, of the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed playing card games, games on the computer and watching sporting events on the TV with his son-in-law, Bob.
His biggest love in life was spending time with his family.
On Sept. 12, 1992, he married Theresa Gallant and they resided in Naples, Fla., for 15 years.
He is survived by three daughters, Claire L. Bradley and husband, Robert J. Sr., of Rumford, Ann L. Peacock and husband, Thomas, of Freeport and Louise A. Bergeron and husband, Stephen, of Old Orchard Beach; eight grandchildren, Luanne Godin, Linda Mingo, Robert J. Bradley Jr., Karin Stoddard, Joseph Peacock, Matthew Bergeron, Daniel Bergeron and Ethan Bergeron; 13 great-grandchildren, Michael Godin, David Godin, Hope Godin, Scott LaPlante, Melissa Gilbert, Dylan Mingo, Elizabeth Shaw, Dalton Bradley, Megan Peacock, Alexandra Peacock, Kaitlyn Stoddard, Abigail Stoddard and Isaiah Bergeron.
He was predeceased by his parents; his wife of 50 years, Simone (Caron); four sisters, Elise, Rose, Anna and Alice; and three brothers, Joseph, Paul and Louis.
