Auburn – Jacqueline W. Daigle, 69, of 352 Pleasant St., Lewiston, passed away on Saturday, April 5, at the Hospice House surrounded by her loving family at her side after a very tough two-year battle of melanoma cancer.
She was born in Keegan, on July 4, 1938, the daughter of the late Beatrice and Joseph Levasseur of Keegan. She graduated from Van Buren schools, then later moved to Lewiston and married Vernon R. Daigle on May 18, 1957.
She had worked at several shoe shops with her husband, General Electric for nine years, Bolster Heights for several years, then became a full time housewife, loving, understanding, always there mother and grandmother.
She enjoyed riding on the back of her husband’s motorcycle, going for long rides, loved camping, going for walks, shopping, talking on the phone for hours with her daughter and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Vernon, who took tremendous loving care of her on her final days; a son, James Daigle and his wife Debbie; a daughter and best friend, Sandra Daigle Beaulieu and her husband, Marc, all of Lewiston; four beautiful grandchildren, Michelle Beaulieu and her fiancé, Matthew Cheche of Richmond, Ryan Beaulieu of Lewiston, Corey Daigle and his fiancée, Nickol Thompson and her son, Jordan of Poland, and Sarah Daigle and her companion, Joe Gauthier of Lewiston. She was so anxiously awaiting for the birth of her first great-granddaughter, Jaidyn-Lyn Jacqueline Daigle who will be born on April 8, but never got to see.
She is loved and will be deeply missed by family and everyone who knew her.
Her family would like to express a special thank-you to all the nurses and staff at Saint Mary’s Hospital, Dr. Pandy and his staff for their support through this tough time, Dr. Ikossi and her staff, and to all the beautiful, caring people at Androscoggin Home Care and the beautiful, peaceful Hospice House in Auburn, where mom spent her final day, and also Dr. Maureen Kavanah of Boston Medical Center.
