The biggest joke of the year, so far, was printed on the front page of the Sun Journal on April 2 – “Big oil execs defend profits.” Naturally. Why not? $123 billion is a lot of cash.
Anyone who has studied just a little bookkeeping knows that income is costs and profits. Income is gained from selling products. Profits is what is left over after the costs are taken care of.
If the big oil companies cut the cost of their products in half, their profits would also be cut in half. I believe they could cut the cost of their products quite considerably more than that and still make enough profit to take care of any lean times. But they are greedy.
I am on the verge of going broke because of those prices, especially for heating oil.
Those oil company executives should live like I do. They would lose weight fast. They would have to turn down the heat in their mansions and dress warm.
Our elected representatives do nothing, while our property is taken when we cannot pay the taxes. They are all thieves, stealing our money while feeding their campaign funds.
Bah, humbug!
