A propane gas leak in the kitchen at Tim W. Kelly Middle School meant an evacuation of middle school staff and students to Dirigo High School in Dixfield on March 20. Dirigo High School food technician Kelly Blouin, shorthanded as the result of co-workers affected by the gas leak, worked with seven high school student kitchen aides, who stepped up to serve lunch to three shifts of 350 high school students and to three shifts of 280 Kelly School students. From left in front are Chris Cronin; food service technician Ellen Kimball, Keith Langervin, Blouin and Derek Daley; back, Tyler Jamison and Arthur Manzer; absent, Christine Kimball and Jessica Kimball.
