LEWISTON – Advocates for Children recently partnered with the Maine State Police, the Lewiston Police Department and Androscoggin Head Start and Child Care to hold a Blue Ribbon Rally at the B Street Community Center. The rally is held each year to bring awareness to April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.

This year’s theme is “Pinwheels for Prevention.” During the rally, Head Start children colored large Pinwheels for Prevention posters and received child identification safety kits from the Lewiston Police Department.

Trooper Scott Gosselin read stories to the children that dealt with teasing and discussed strategies for dealing with bullying behaviors.
