LEWISTON – Harvey W. White Jr., 86, of Lisbon, died April 9, at Central Maine Medical Center, with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Durham on Dec. 30, 1921, the son of Harvey Sr. and Nettie (Getchell) White. After high school, he went to serve his country proudly in the U.S. Army.

He married Barbara Gray on June 26, 1948. He worked for 37 years as a union structural steel worker and was a member of Iron Workers Local 496. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion in Lisbon.

He enjoyed gardening, reading, watching the Red Sox, tinkering with cars, cookouts, yard sales and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Barbara; daughter, Debbie Lamb; son, Harvey White III and his wife, Susan; brother, Douglass; sisters, Nolia Washburn and Neota Sherman; mother-in-law, Minnie Gray; grandsons, Ryan and wife, Tara, Jason and wife, Diane, Derek and Jackson and wife, Sylvia; granddaughter, Emily; great-granddaughters, Adrianna, Rosalie and Caroline; and great-grandsons, Jordan, Devin and Collin.

He was predeceased by five brothers; and two sisters.
