RUMFORD – James H. Viger, 51, died Wednesday, April 9, at his residence on Linnell Street in Rumford.
He was born in Rumford on May 16, 1956, a son of Godfrey and Margaret (Paltanawick) Viger. He attended Rumford schools and went on to travel the world with Up With People doing what he loved – singing.
He lived for years in California pursuing his dream of singing, singing lead vocals in many bands. He made many, many friends along the way. He also lived in Kentucky for a few years before returning to Rumford. He was always excited to bring his friends and family backstage to many memorable concerts and show them the sites.
Survivors include his two daughters, Autumn Gudbrandsen of Rumford and Kennedy Viger of Florence Ky.; his mother, Margaret Viger of Rumford; three sisters, Chris Viger of Bath, Eileen Walker and her husband, Joseph, of Dickson, Tenn., and Janine Archibald and her husband, Scott, of Dixfield.
He was predeceased by his father, Godfrey “Choey” Viger.
