LIVERMORE FALLS – Students at Livermore Falls Middle School were late to class Friday morning after a dusty electric motor got too hot and created some smoke in an office near the gym.
Livermore Falls Fire Department responded to a 6:13 a.m. call from a school employee, Deputy Fire Chief Marvin Parker said. Firefighters found dust on the overheated motor was smoking. The motor was removed and an electrician notified.
Parker said the heater was in an office off the stage in the gym.
The area was vented and students were returned to the school from the high school about 8:30 a.m., a school representative said.
