NORWAY – Katherine Hebert, 77, of Hanover died at Norway, April 10.
She was born in Porter on Dec. 20, 1930, the daughter of Frank and Julia DeWitt and was educated in Porter schools and had been a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the American Legion Post 82 Auxiliary, loved to knit and crochet garden, watch birds and especially loved her dogs. She was happiest in the outdoors with nature.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Durgin of Hanover; four sons, Delbert and Larry Thurston of Pittsfield, Harold Thurston of Chitsnock, N.H., and Kenneth Thurston of Ottisfield; five daughters, Evelyn Hamilton of Locke Mills, Barbara Bedard of North Fryeburg, Marie Hamilton of Lovell, Irene Burnell of Fryeburg and Katherine Kaus of Waterville; one brother, Hanson DeWitt of Hiram; one sister, Laura Chapman of Porter; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
