AUBURN – Richard W. LeBlanc “Dick,” 74, of Pinewoods Road, Lisbon, died Wednesday, April 9, at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice after a courageous battle against a chronic respiratory illness.
He was born in Lewiston on March 18, 1934, a son to the late Henry and Lucienne (Beauchesne) LeBlanc. Dick was a member of the National Guard and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He married the love of his life, Anita Rodrigue on July 20, 1957, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.
He worked for many years at the Bates Mill, Hill Division and the Lewiston Public Works. He was an active member of the Holy Trinity parish in Lisbon, serving as eucharistic minister. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Lisbon, Rev. Raymond Bourque Cournoyer Assembly 0359, 4th Degree Rev. N.J. Cournoyer Council 2358, the V.F.W. Post 9459 in Lisbon, and the American Legion Post 22 in Lewiston.
He cherished the moments spent with family and friends, loved playing his trumpet, and enjoyed traveling with his wife. He will be greatly missed for his generosity, love for life, and his support and words of encouragement he always gave to his children and grandchildren.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, Anita LeBlanc of Lisbon; a son, Kevin LeBlanc and his wife, Chantel, of Scarborough; three daughters, Catherine Cook and her husband, Richard, of Manchester, N.H., Karen Lebel and her husband, Gerry, of Litchfield and Shirley Lemelin and her husband, Gerard, of Turner; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Jeannette Michaud and her husband, Normand, of Lewiston, Lorraine Ricker of Poland, Paulette Everett and her companion, Don, of Lewiston and Pauline Langill and her husband, Dave, of West Poland; three brothers, all from Lewiston, Normand LeBlanc and his companion, Blanche, Conrad LeBlanc and his wife, Theresa, and Henry LeBlanc Jr. and his wife, Pauline; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Steven; and a brother, Raymond.
