AUBURN – Rita D. Roy, 86, of 23 Spofford St., Lewiston, died Wednesday, April 9, at Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
She was born in Lawrence, Mass., July 8, 1921, a daughter of the late Raoul and Desilda DeLorge Daigle. She was educated in Lewiston schools. She was married to Emile A. Roy Sept. 7, 1940. He died March 3, 1986. She and her husband founded Roy’s Driving School.
She was a member of Lewiston Catholic community at Holy Family Parish, the Ladies of Ste. Anne’s Sodality, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary Council 106 Lewiston, Holy Cross Senior Citizens, Lewiston Senior Citizens, American Legion Post 22 Auxiliary, Lewiston, La Survivance Francaise, Horizon 55 and Covenant 50.
She is survived by four sons and their spouses, Gerard and Florence of Florida, Marcel and Brenda of Tennessee, Maurice and Lori of California, and Roger and Jeannine of Lewiston; her grandsons, John, Gerry II, Marcel II, Jeremiah, Eric and Kevin; her great-grandsons, Jeremy and Jackson; her sisters, Jeannette Martin of Lewiston and Beatrice Popadak of Virginia.
