LEWISTON – Jean A. Parent, 81, of the Meadows in Greene, died Thursday, April 10, at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston.
Born in Rumford on Dec. 26, 1926, she was the daughter of Leo P. and Juliette Nadeau Bouffard. She moved with her family to Lewiston when she was 13, and graduated from Lewiston High School.
On July 4, 1946, she married Paul E. Parent, and together they raised their family in Lewiston until 1972, when they moved to Winthrop, before retiring to Tempe, Ariz., in 1985.
Following the death of her husband in 2006, Jean moved back to the local area. Besides spending time with her husband, she enjoyed knitting, bingo and playing cribbage at the Meadows every Wednesday afternoon.
Survivors include five sons, Thomas of Redding, Calif., John and wife, Emily, of Katy, Texas, James and wife, Gretchen, of Tampa, Fla., David and wife, Cheryl, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Joseph and wife, Debra, of Poland; three daughters, Paula and husband, Edmond Pelletier, of Greene, Julie and husband, Robert Lightner, of San Diego, Calif., and Bunny Loftus of Tempe, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
