RUMFORD – Norman Daniel Martin, 57, of 319 Swain Road, Rumford, died peacefully on April 11, at his home, Horizons Unlimited, with his family at his side.
He was born in Rumford on Nov. 13, 1950, the first born of Raymond Martin and Laurette Gammon.
He grew up on Duntile Street in Mexico, and attended Hope Training School in Mexico and the Adult Activity Center in Rumford.
He will be remembered for his love of dancing, music, parades, swimming, riding his bike, bowling and his good-natured laughter.
He is survived by his parents; his brother, Steve and wife, Louise, of Topsham; his sister, Evelyn and husband, Mike Gotto, of Turner; his brother, Randy and wife, Pam, of Leeds, his brother, Gary and wife, Brenda, of Lyman, and his brother, Jeff and wife, Debra, of Ashburn, Va.; 11 nieces and nephews, eight great-nieces and nephews; and his extended family at Horizons Unlimited.
Those who knew him will always have stories to tell and memories to share of a man that touched our lives in so many ways.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Horizons Unlimited and the Adult Activity Center for the wonderful care and compassion they provided as well as a heartfelt thanks to the many friends for their support.
