RUMFORD – Wilfred P. Dube, 97, died on Saturday, April 12, at the Rumford Community Home. He was a resident of Porter Avenue, in Rumford.
Born in Coaticook, Quebec, Canada, he was the son of August and Edwick (Fournier) Dube. He attended schools in Lewiston. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a technician 4th grade from 1943 to 1945. He worked as a trimmer helper at Boise Cascade Paper Co. in Rumford, until his retirement in 1973.
He was a member of the Boise Cascade Paper Co. 25 Year Club and the Robert Shand Post 1641, VFW. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
He was married in Portsmouth, N.H., on July 14, 1931, to the late Zella V. Kerr, who died in Rumford, on Oct. 29, 1998.
Survivors include a brother, Robert Dube of New Britain, Conn.; and a sister-in-law, Edith Vaillaincourt of Mexico; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Rumford Community Home for the care given to Wilfred.
