FARMINGTON – James H. Nile, 80, of Farmington, died peacefully, Monday, April 14, with his family by his side in Farmington.

He was born on Feb. 2, 1928, in Langtown Plantation, a son of James and Beulah (Pillsbury) Nile. He attended schools in Coplin Plantation, Farmington and graduated from Kingfield High School.

On June 22, 1949, he married Faye Hewey in Kingfield. She died on Feb. 2, 2005.

He worked in the woods lumbering his entire life. He enjoyed the outdoors very much including hunting, fishing and camping with his wife, which they did often. He was a youth swimming instructor, Scout Master for Troop 504 in Stratton and was a Maine Guide for 40 years. He was a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed playing cribbage with friends at the Senior Center and local nursing homes. His greatest pleasure in life however, was time spent with his family.

He is survived by three sons, Bruce Nile and his wife, Marilyn, of New Vineyard, Lee Nile and his wife, Faylene, of Wilton and Owen Nile and his fiancé, Ruth Turk, of Farmington; a daughter, Sondra Larrivee and her companion, Allan, of Norway; a sister, Elizabeth Parlin and her husband, Ashley, of Farmington; a brother-in-law, Roscoe Durrell of Florida; 11 grandchildren, Lisa, Jamie, Michael, Keith, Justin, Adam, Lee, Carmine, Nichole, Jillian and Evan; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sons, Floyd and Derwin Nile; and nine brothers and sisters.
