CANTON – Elvira A. Morris, 79, a resident of Livermore Falls, died suddenly Wednesday, April 16, at Victorian Villa, where she had resided for one year.

She was born in Strickland on Oct. 7, 1928, the daughter of Marshall and Doris (Thompson) Morse. She was a 1948 graduate of Livermore Falls High School.

On Dec. 20, 1950, she married Malcolm Morris; they later divorced. She was a homemaker and devoted mother. She had worked as a site manager for Meals on Wheels. She generously opened her home as a boarding home and was also a foster parent to many children.

She was a member of the Eaton Memorial United Methodist Church of Livermore Falls. She was an avid seamstress and she had a passion for arts and crafts and organizing craft fairs. She was a past member of the Eastern Star, a former member of the Lewiston Singles Club and a lifetime member of the Maine Country Music Association, where she also served on the board of directors and in 2002 received the Hal Lone Pine Award for her outstanding work and dedication to the MCMA.

She is survived by two daughters, Marsha James and her husband, Charles, of Jay and Mavis Dubord and her husband, Robert, of Jay; a son, Merritt Morris and his wife, Crystal, of Turner; a brother, Laurance Morse and his wife, Beatrice, of Livermore Falls; grandchildren, Erica Robishaw and her husband, Micheal, Jenna Dubord and Marlee Dubord; and a great-grandson, Maddox Robishaw.

She was predeceased by a brother, Linwood Morse.
