LEWISTON – The AARP Chapter will meet at 1:15 p.m. Monday, April 21, at the Multi-Purpose Center.

Peter Morrell, inspector/investigator for the Lewiston Fire Department, will speak on senior fire safety and evacuation.

Morrell has been in the fire service for 11 years, the last seven years as inspector/investigator for the Lewiston Fire Department. His duties include fire prevention, with multiple license inspections for local businesses, including theaters and restaurants. He is also responsible for code inspections and review of plans for buildings, as well as architects and engineers on new construction. Morrell is also responsible for evacuation training and education as well as fire investigations.

There will be a delegation from the Augusta AARP Chapter attending the meeting. Information will be provided in the economic stimulus payments to be made by the government. Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting.
