WILTON – Police are looking for a white male with a medium build last seen wearing a dark hoodie who tried to force his way into a Main Street residence early Wednesday.

The resident was home asleep at 1:30 in the morning, police Chief Dennis Brown said. When she awoke she heard a disturbance outside.

She went into the kitchen and saw her door knob moving, Brown said.

An unknown man was trying to force his way into her kitchen, Brown said.

The man fled on foot when she came into the kitchen and turned the lights on, and was last seen heading toward Route 2, Brown said.

Anyone who may have information on the incident is asked to call police at 645-3876.
