FARMINGTON – Helen Jeglinski Mooney, 97, died Tuesday, April 15, at the Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center. She was a resident of Virgin Street in Rumford for many years.

She was born in East Pepperell, Mass., on Dec. 5, 1910, a daughter of John S. and Mary Ann (Wrublewski) Jeglinski Sr. She graduated from Stephens High School, Class of 1928.

She worked at Boise Cascade Paper Co. until her retirement from the sample department in 1973. She was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Church. She was past president of the Sacred Heart of Mary Sodality, and past president of the Business and Professional Women’s Club.

She enjoyed traveling, time with her friends and especially loved spending time with her family. She was a concert violinist and played with the Rumford Community Orchestra for many years. After retirement, she wrote a free lance column for a California magazine, and also created crossword puzzles for the Rumford Falls Times using local names and places.

Survivors include her son, Alan Mooney of Rumford; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
