LEWISTON – Michael St. Pierre, a freshman at Lewiston High School, was presented the Eagle Scout Award in a ceremony on April 6.
St. Pierre is a member of Troop 116, Holy Cross Parish, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Attending the ceremony were family, friends and Scouts, as well as Mayor Larry Gilbert, Sen. Peggy Rotundo, Reps. Margaret Craven and Elaine Makas.
St. Pierre earned more merit badges than required to receive the highest Scout award. His service project was done at Bradbury Mountain State Park in June 2007. It consisted of tearing apart two-foot bridges and constructing a mountain bike bridge. His family, Scouts from Troop 116 and members of the Venture Crew 116 assisted.
St. Pierre has been in the Scouting program since he was 5, starting with the Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He is a member of Venture Crew 116.
St. Pierre has an older brother, Jason, who is also an Eagle Scout from Troop 116, and his older sister, April, earned her Silver Award while she was in the Girl Scout program. Michael chose to present them with mentor pins.
