WINDHAM (AP) – A section of Route 302 in Windham was closed to traffic at the height of the evening commute as fire crews battled a blaze that destroyed an auto repair shop.

Several cars caught fire at Jimino’s Motor Co. and a number of explosions were reported. One person was transported to a hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

Traffic was rerouted onto side streets as the busy highway was closed in both directions from Albion Road to Pope Road.
