LEWISTON – Two Lewiston High School students involved in the Air Force Junior ROTC program received appointments to two highly competitive Air Force programs.

Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Roy, a senior, was selected for an Air Force Senior ROTC scholarship. Roy will receive about $18,000 a year to pay for college. He plans to attend Norwich University in the fall.

Roy has excelled in the JROTC program for four years and is vice commander of the Cadet Corps. Roy has excelled in academics and athletics.

Cadet Chief Master Sergeant Kristin Therrien, a sophomore, was selected for the Air Force JROTC Honors Camp. Only 432 of more than 100,000 JROTC cadets were chosen for the opportunity. Cadets will visit operational Air Force units, research labs, historical sites, aerospace industries and learn about leadership. Therrien is a model student and excels in academics and athletics.
