LEWISTON – Marcelle T. Binette, 78, of Great Falls Plaza, Auburn died Thursday, April 17, at Russell Park Manor.

She was born in Montreal, Canada, on Aug. 26, 1929, the daughter of Isadore and Lauriciana Trudeau. Prior to moving to Maine, she attended schools in Montreal and graduated from high school.

On June 21, 1959, she married Albert N. Binette with whom she owned and operated the Happy Rest Motel in Old Orchard Beach in the 1960s.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was a member of St. Louis Church.

She is survived by her husband of Auburn; two daughters, Frances Deshaies and her husband, Roger, of Tucson, Ariz., and Helene Gagnon and her husband, Ronald, of Raymond; two sons, Jude and his wife, Michelle, of Lewiston and Andre and his wife, Joline, of Auburn; her grandchildren, Lindsay and Justin Binette of Lewiston, Felicia and Brandon Binette of Auburn, Kyle, Alison, and Drew Gagnon of Raymond; and her brother, Gaetan Trudeau of Montreal.

She was predeceased by her grandson, Timothy Deshaies July 2006.
