FARMINGTON – Theodore R. Tracy Jr., 79, of Industry died Thursday, April 17, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 17, 1928, in Industry, the son of Theodore R. and Bernice (Sawtelle) Tracy. He was educated in the schools of Industry and Farmington, graduating from Farmington High School in 1948. He worked as a tool and die sharpener at Forsters Manufacturing, served as a volunteer for The Civil Defense in the 1950s, and worked for the town of Wilton.
He drove for various freight companies for more than 30 years as a member of Teamsters Local 340. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, camping, and spending many happy summer weekends at Reid State Park with family and friends. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine of Industry, who would have been celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary with him in July; his three daughters, Sharleen Cronin and her husband, Frederick, of North Conway, N.H., Vickie Morgan and her husband, Robert, of Falmouth and Nancy Pillsbury and her husband, Nathan, of Industry; two sons, Brent Tracy and his wife, Loretta, of Elk Grove, Calif., and Dale Tracy and his wife, Deborah, of East Wilton; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Cronin, John and Scott Morgan, Meghan Tracy, Noah and Nash Pillsbury, and Derek and Dara Tracy; six great-grandchildren, Lance and Samuel, Emma and Sienna, and Bryan and Brody; his sister, Arlene Melcher of Westbrook; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his “buddy” Napham (his cat).
