SACO (AP) – The Coast Guard as well as local authorities are searching for a boy who reportedly fell into the Saco River.
The boy, who is about 12 years old according to the Coast Guard, fell into the water at about 12:30 Saturday afternoon.
Authorities did not release the boy’s name.
The Maine Marine Patrol contacted Coast Guard Station South Portland, Maine, around 2 p.m., requesting assistance.
The Coast Guard launched a 25-foot response boat and a helicopter to search from the air.
Boat crews from the Maine Marine Patrol and Biddeford and Saco fire departments, as well as police divers and volunteers are participating in the search.
