LEEDS (AP) – The driver of a motorcycle who was killed in an accident here Saturday has been identifield as Eric Demos, 22, of Chelsea.

Police said speed and unsafe operation are factors in the accident that killed Demos, who lost control of his motorcycle while doing a wheelie at a high rate of speed on Route 202 in Leeds. The Androscoggin Sheriff’s Office said the accident took place around 3:45 p.m. Saturday when Demos lost control of his 1000cc motorcycle, struck a guardrail and was thrown from the bike.

Demos was pronounced dead at the scene.
