SANFORD (AP) – Three members of Congress, including the two from Maine, will be in Sanford on Monday to take part in a field hearing on veterans’ issues.

The House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Health will be gathering information on ways to improve the quality of care to rural, female and special needs veterans. A particular focus of the hearing will be mental health care.

The subcommittee is chaired by Maine Representative Michael Michaud, who will preside at the hearing. Also on hand will be fellow Maine Democrat Tom Allen and Jeff Miller of Florida, the ranking Republican on the panel.

The hearing begins at 10 a.m. Monday at the Sanford Town Hall.
