LEWISTON – Pathways through Grief, an educational and support group program for adults who have experienced the death of a loved one or friend, will be offered in the Lakes Region area on Tuesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. beginning Tuesday, May 6, for eight weeks and in the Oxford Hills area on Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. beginning Wednesday, May 7, for eight weeks.

The program will be facilitated by trained bereavement volunteers. It is sponsored at no cost to participants by Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.

Topics will include “Understanding the Grieving Process”; “Dealing with Practical Concerns”; “Managing Stress and Pain”; and “Finding Hope and Comfort.”

“These programs began in response to the community’s need for local grief support services,” said Jim Douglas, AHCH bereavement supervisor. “I’m delighted with our volunteers, whose skill and commitment make these groups happen. The positive response of those participating in the Pathways through Grief program tells us we are providing an important service to those who are grieving losses.”

Participants are encouraged to attend all eight sessions and preregistration is required. For more information, contact Douglas, Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, 1-800-482-7412 or 795-9462.
