VAN BUREN – Elizabeth (Gagnon) Dumont, 95, died April 21, at a Van Buren health care facility.

She was born in St. Leonard, N.B., Canada, Feb. 14, 1913, the daughter of Michel and Olive (Durepos) Gagnon. At the age of 10, she and her family moved to Van Buren, where she attended Keegan Grammar School. She married Albenie Dumont at St. Remi Church in Keegan. She worked at Bates Manufacturing in Lewiston for 34 years, and upon retiring she relocated to Van Buren.

She is survived by one son, Elmer Dumont of Portland; two brothers, Aurele Gagnon of Van Buren and Armand Gagnon of South Paris; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Albenie Dumont in 1949; four sons, Vinal Dumont, Larry Dumont, Howard Dumont and Norman Dumont; four brothers, Sylvio, Deliome, Paul and Gilman Gagnon; and two sisters, Alice Langlais and Leona Deschaines.
