FARMINGTON – Healthy Community Coalition’s Mobile Health Unit is back in front of the Farmington Wal-Mart from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays offering free ScoreHealth screenings.

ScoreHealth is a health risk assessment program that includes cholesterol screening, total and HDL, blood pressure, counseling on nutrition, physical activity, tobacco cessation and stress management.

Results are given at the end of each visit and a copy can also be sent to the primary care provider. Each assessment takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

The Healthy Community Coalition is the community’s connection to health information and the local health care system. Coalition staff can explain the options for insurance coverage that are available in greater Franklin County, including Franklin Health Access.

The coalition also provides free walking maps, nutritional information and recipes and tobacco cessation information. Visitors may also qualify for no-cost mammograms offered through the Maine Breast and Cervical Health Program.

The United Way of the Tri-Valley area provides funding to offer the free ScoreHealth screenings on the mobile health unit.
