FORT MYERS, Fla. – Roscoe “Rocky” Swain died Sunday, April 20, at Calusa Harbour in Fort Myers, Fla., after a short illness. He and his wife, “Bunny” lived in Bethel for many years, where they raised their three daughters.

They moved to Champlain N.Y., where he drove truck for 25 years for Anchor Motor Freight, delivering to new car dealerships. After his retirement, they summered at their cottage at Lake Champlain in Swanton, Vt., and wintered at their condo in North Fort Myers, Fla., on the Caloosahatchee River.

He is survived by his daughters, Charlene and Bud Maginnis of Lawrence Mass., Jim and Diane Todd of West Paris and Leah and George Desmet of Merrimac, Mass.; two brothers, Ruel and Maureen Swain of Bethel and Ed and Eleanor Swain of Salem, S.C.; a sister, Henrietta and Walter Taft of Otisfield; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, “Bunny” July 1, 2005, after 60 years of love and life together.
