GREENE – Erica Brown and the Bluegrass Connection will perform at the Araxine Wilkins Sawyer Memorial, 371 Sawyer Road, at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, and 2 and 7 p.m. Friday, April 25. Admission is free and the doors will open one hour before shows.
Brown, 22, of Lewiston, was competing in fiddle contests at age 7. By the age of 9, she was traveling throughout New England, Canada and Louisiana with the Maine French Fiddlers. She has produced and released four solo CDs.
In 2003 Brown was named Junior Female Entertainer of the Year by the Maine Country Music Association and was a recipient of a 2006 Maine Arts Commission Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Award.
Her band includes her younger brother, Daniel, 17, on mandolin. He discovered the mandolin at age 10 while attending weekend bluegrass festivals with his sister and family.
Lincoln Meyers plays guitar and Ken Taylor is on bass. Ted DeMille is left-handed guitarist, lead and harmony vocalist. Read McNamara is the newest member, playing banjo.
