GLOUCESTER, Mass. (AP) – A Gloucester woman has pleaded not guilty to driving drunk when she crashed her car into an SUV carrying actress Sandra Bullock.

Lucille Gatchell was released on personal recognizance Tuesday following her appearance in Gloucester District Court. She was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor and failure to stay in a marked lane.

Neither Bullock nor her husband, Jesse James, was hurt in the head-on crash Friday night.

Police said the 64-year-old Gatchell had a blood alcohol level of .20, more than twice the legal limit in Massachusetts.

Gatchell’s lawyer, Benjamin Richard, says her client is relieved no one was injured.

and is grateful for the concern Bullock and James showed after the accident.

The actress is in the Cape Ann area filming the romantic comedy, “The Proposal.”
