LIVERMORE FALLS – Police arrested a Jay boy early Wednesday after he allegedly broke into a Puffin Stop convenience store on Main Street, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.
Sea Coast Security alerted police that a burglary alarm had been set off at 12:25 a.m., he said.
Officer Ken Bryant was on the scene in less than a minute and caught the boy attempting to make off with a case of AMPS soda, Steward said.
The boy, whose age was not listed in the police report as of Wednesday morning, was charged with burglary, theft by unauthorized taking, and trespassing, the chief said.
He was released to his parents and is scheduled to appear in juvenile court on June 23 in Lewiston.
