RUMFORD – Patrick A. Hamner, 39, of Knox Street, Rumford died Sunday, April 20, unexpectedly at his residence.

He was born March 14, 1969, in Chelsea, Mass., the son of Gerard and Sandra Gerald Hamner. He attended schools in Rumford.

He was the owner of Hamner & Nails Roofing Co. in Rumford for 14 years, until his death.

He was a communicant of St. John’s Catholic Church, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 24, and the Snowmobile Club. He also enjoyed carpentry and playing cards.

Besides his wife of 12 years, Shannon (Violette) Hamner of Rumford, he leaves his parents, Gerard Hamner of Mexico; Sandra Gerald of Dixfield; his stepmother, Geri Viger of Mexico; a son, Logan P. Hamner, and a daughter, Kennedy B. Hamner, both of Rumford; three brothers, twin, Harry Hamner and his companion, Laurie Holmquist, of Rumford, Gerard Hamner Jr. and his companion, Michelle Leonard, of Rockland and Justin Hamner and his companion, Amanda Dolloff, of Mexico; two sisters, Carolyn Perry and her husband, John, of Rumford and Ericka Kubic and her companion, Fred Nolan, of Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.
