LEWISTON – Richard T. Cannady, 59, of Orchard Circle, died Tuesday, April 22, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in St. Louis, Mo., on Feb. 24, 1949, a son of Walter E. and Ruth Minor Cannady.

He attended schools in St. Louis and graduated from Melville High School.

He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Navy and served in Vietnam. He retired from the Navy with 21 years of service.

He lived in Lewiston for 21 years coming from Brunswick.

He was a member of the Topsham American Legion Post and the Brunswick Elks.

He was a loyal St. Louis Cardinals fan.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy (Joslyn) Cannaday of Lewiston; two sons, Thomas of St. Louis, and Josh of Auburn; his daughter Stacey Cannady of Lewiston; and a sister, Ruth Cannady of St. Louis.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Cannady in 2000.
