I thank the Lewiston Public Works Department for using water to dampen areas during the street and sidewalk sweeping process. I would recommend that all commercial and private businesses do the same. Without the water, raising all that dust is so unhealthy and dirty. There are people with lung disease, as well as walkers, out there. And vehicles get covered with dirt.

Perhaps sweeping could be done after a rainy day, but if not, using water really helps keep the dust down.
