CAMDEN – Kirsten Prue scored nine goals and Karen Leary added five to lead Edward Little to a 19-9 girls’ lacrosse victory over Camden Hills on Saturday.

Prue, who also assisted on four other goals, scored five times in the first half and Leary had three to spark the Red Eddies (1-1) to a 9-4 advantage. Carmen Lasagna chipped in with three goals, and Katie Williams and Sam Dean rounded out the scoring for EL.

Katie McHenry and Britney Rubenstein scored three goals apiece for Camden Hills.

Liz Barclay made five saves for EL, which enjoyed a 23-12 advantage in shots.

Hebron 6, Kents Hill 4

READFIELD – KJ Forand scored a hat trick as Hebron played to a 6-4 victory over Kents Hill in girls’ lacrosse action Saturday.

Hebron (4-2) took a 3-1 lead into halftime and scored two safeties early in the second period to extend their lead to 5-1. Shelly Bolduc scored two goals for Hebron.

The Huskies scored two late goals when Laurel Leyden found the net in the span of 45 seconds to narrow the gap, but Hebron held on for the win.

Lewiston 14, Oxford Hills 7

SOUTH PARIS – Senior midfielder Amie Daniels collected four goals as Lewiston bedeviled Oxford Hills 14-7 in KVAC girls’ lacrosse action Saturday.

The Blue Devils (2-0) jumped out to a 9-3 first-half lead. Senior midfielder Andrea Dibello contributed three goals for Lewiston. Senior midfielder Brook Mason paced the Vikings (1-1) with four tallies.

Brewster 13, Hebron 3

HEBRON – John Burris scored four goals as Brewster rolled over Hebron 13-3 in boys’ lacrosse action Saturday afternoon.

The Lumberjacks (8-3) played well in the first quarter, holding an early lead before Brewster found the net at the buzzer to tie the game at 1-1.

C.J. Estes led Hebron’s offensive effort with a pair of goals and one assist, while Bobby Thoits added a goal. Dan Sommer made 11 stops in net for the Lumberjacks.

Baseball

Wells 2, Poland 1

POLAND – Dmitri Gatziogannis hurled a complete-game five-hitter to lead Wells to a 2-1 win over Poland in a Western Maine Conference baseball game Saturday.

Gatziogannis (2-0) fanned five and walked none.

The Warriors (2-0) scored on a fielder’s choice in the third and an RBI single by Josh Mayo in the fifth.

Poland (2-1) scored its lone run in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI groundout by Dartanyan Bourget. Nick Douglass (0-1) fanned six and allowed five hits over five innings to suffer the loss.

Douglass led Poland with three hits.

Hebron 6, NYA 5

NORTH YARMOUTH – Pete Buckley went 2-for-5 with a triple, a run, an RBI and a stolen base to lead Hebron to a 6-5 outcome over North Yarmouth Academy in baseball action Saturday.

The Panthers jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings. But the Lumberjacks (2-1) responded with four runs over the next two innings and traded a run with North Yarmouth in the fifth inning, before plating the game-winner in the top of the seventh.

Brian Gage earned the complete-game win for Hebron, allowing nine hits and fanning three batters along the way.
