FARMINGTON – Mission at the Eastward and North Parish Housing Ministry will sponsor a summer housing program to assist area homeowners in the Greater Farmington and New Portland areas who, without assistance with labor and/or materials, would be unable to make needed repairs to their homes.
Mission teams from all over the northeast will help qualified applicants with painting, roof repairs, porches, steps, ramps and simple interior and exterior repairs. Wherever possible, homeowners and families are asked to participate in the work and help with the cost. At times, the mission can help with materials through grants and donations.
The summer housing program is especially directed toward the elderly, handicapped, low income, single parents and those with specials needs; and will run from late June through early August.
Those who live within a 30-minute radius of Farmington or New Portland and own or are buying a home and need assistance with repairs may pick up an application at the local town office or call the Fairbanks Union Church at 778-4705 and an application will be mailed.
