SEBAGO – Musical theater students at Schoolhouse Arts Center at Sebago Lake will present the Broadway musical “Willy Wonka Junior,” based on the book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” by Roald Dahl, on May 2, 3 and 4.

It has been adapted for stage by Leslie Bricusse and Timothy A. McDonald with words and music by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley. Twenty-two students from southern Maine communities have come together to work with director Bruce Avery and music director Eoin Sinclair to present this popular musical – with lessons for children that are as relevant today as they were when the book was written 40-plus years ago.

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 2; at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3; and at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at the Schoolhouse Arts Center on Route 114. Call 642-3743 for reservations. For additional information, log on to www.schoolhousearts.org.
