TAMPA, Fla. – Timothy Hubert Giroux, 61, passed away on Thursday, April 24, after a courageous battle with cancer in Tampa, Fla. He was a resident of Mexico.

He was born in Rumford, but spent most of his adult life in Virginia, having only returned to his home-town in recent years. He was a Vietnam veteran, and after his service in the Army, he entered the paint contracting business, which ultimately led to him owning his own company.

He was always an avid outdoorsman as well as a talented carpenter. He will be sorely missed for his smile and sense of humor by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughter, Laurie Simpson of Valrico, Fla., and her husband, Bill, and granddaughter, Kayla; his son, Jeffrey Giroux of Hanover, Va., and his wife, Tracy, and grandchildren Austin, Bailey and Camden; his brothers, Thomas and Douglas; sister, Delores; as well as his father, Joseph “Louis.”
