STRATTON – The Dead River Area Historical Society Walk-A-Thon will set off at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, from the Camden National Bank parking lot.
Participants will walk up School Street, first station will be at Earl Meyer’s, turning around at the site of the old dump and returning to the bank parking lot. It will be a fit activity for all ages, from kindergartners through senior citizens.
Drinks and snacks will be provided at each mile marker along the way. A local restaurant has donated a $50 gift certificate to the adult bringing in the most money. Another business has donated a $25 gift certificate for the child bringing in the most money.
Participants may start collecting pledges as soon as they receive their sheets. They can be picked up at Northland Cash and need to be turned in at the walk-a-thon.
Pledge sheets with the money need to be returned by May 17 to Mary Henderson, president/treasurer, 180 Main St., PO Box 15, Stratton, ME.
